Christmas spirit is in the air—Nativity! The Musical has arrived!
Adapted from the beloved holiday film, this delightful musical is perfect for audiences of all ages!
The story, set in a Midlands primary school, follows St. Bernadette’s teacher, Mr. Maddens, who’s determined to stage a nativity musical with the help of his eccentric and lovable teaching assistant, Mr. Poppy. Things quickly get out of hand when Mr. Poppy overhears Mr. Maddens mentioning that a Hollywood producer will be attending, sparking a whirlwind of excitement about turning the nativity into a movie!
Written by Debbie Isitt, the creator of the hit film series, with music composed by Nicky Ager, this heartfelt and uplifting production brings back the audience's favorite songs from the films, alongside new tunes sure to add an extra dash of holiday cheer. Join Mr. Maddens, Mr. Poppy, their talented students, and plenty of festive sparkle for a musical experience that’s truly unforgettable!
This was an incredible production. I’d previously seen this company’s rendition of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and I can say I was just as excited for this one. It was fabulous. The cast, particularly Alec White as Mr Maddens, Matt Elson as Mr Poppy and of course the fabulous children were all so talented.
Please note: This is an amateur production performed by Bilston Operatic Company. Established in 1927, the company performed annually at the Theatre Royal in Bilston for 30 years before moving to the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, where they continue to perform today.
Nativity! The Musical is showing at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre until Sunday, 17 November 2024. Tickets are available at this link.
